The Restoration project
Moore Close Gardens need help being restored to their former beauty! While a lot has been accomplished over the years,
there is still a great deal of work to be done, as you can see from the photographs above. Funds for the restoration are
welcomed from private donors in order that small specific projects may be undertaken and completed whilst we apply for
grants from other sources, such as government and historical preservation bodies. Such funding application processes require
much time and effort, and are ongoing, but in the meantime we also want to inspire you with new ways to donate to the
Restoration Project.
Artist Judith Milne has created a beautiful original watercolour featuring the garden in its fully restored state. We invite you
to be part of this dream! (Please click here to view the artwork)
How we work
A specific restoration and management group
has been set up to overview all work being done
in this area. One of the first items discussed in
2015, was the approval of a master plan, which
included more than just restoring the steps and
fence. The vision we have is a garden open to
the public (under controlled circumstances), for
activities and events, rental arrangements,
public tours and other activities. This will
ensure that the gardens can be a beautiful and
attractive place for anyone with an interest in
such, and thereby be able to obtain public
funding. You can read about the master plan
here.
How you can help
We welcome any financial contribution that you
are willing and able to make, however small. As
we try to make certain sections of the
restoration available for specific funding, you
can see how progress is made and the amount
of money allocated. We will be transparent,
informative and accurate in dealing with
incremental project funding.
Another great way to help us, is by becoming
the local Ambassador in your area or your
country. By signing up to becoming a local
Ambassador, you will get more information from
us, and be able to answer more questions
should anyone ask. You will be listed in our
website as the local Ambassdor, thereby
supporting the cause in a special way. There are
no obligations or other requirements apart from
the natural interest in our work and being in
line with our statutes and philosophy.
